Veneto, located on the east side of Italy is a major wine producing region.  The popular wines that are world famous from Veneto are the dry sparkling Prosecco, white wine Soave and the light red Valpolicella.  Most unique from this region is the Amarone, Ripasso and Recioto style wines that are only produced after the grapes are dried for a minimum of three months after picking.
